Which scales are supported?
Currently the Bookoo Mini and devices compatible with its protocol. More will follow if there is demand — tell me which one you own.
Do I need a Bluetooth scale?
No. The scale only saves you the typing. Grind size, dose, yield and brew time can all be entered by hand, and the recommendation is identical.
Where does my data live?
On your iPhone. The app has no networking code, no account and no cloud — there is no server for anything to reach. Details in the privacy policy.
Why is there no recommendation for filter?
The recommendation logic is tuned for espresso — flow, brew ratio and brew time behave differently for filter. You can store and find filter settings in the logbook, but the app will not compute a correction for them.
Why does the app ask for the roast date?
Because coffee changes its resistance as it degasses. SingleDose weights days off roast by roast level — a dark roast degasses faster than a light one — and corrects the grind before your shots run away.
My grinder has a completely different scale.
During setup there is a “custom range” option next to stepless and stepped. Enter the lowest value, the highest value and the smallest adjustment. That last one matters: the app calculates recommendations in exactly those steps.
How do I delete a bean?
In the “My Setup” tab tap “Edit”, then the red minus on the bean. Its saved grind settings go with it.
