Privacy Policy

Short version: the SingleDose app sends nothing. It has no networking code, no account and no cloud. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from third parties. What is processed anyway is described below.

2. Hosting

This website is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany (data centre location: Germany). Hetzner processes the data arising from your visit on my behalf under a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR).

The server is operated and administered by me. No further service providers are involved, and in particular no data is transferred to countries outside the EU.

The legal basis is my legitimate interest in providing this website securely and efficiently (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

3. Server log files

When you open the site, information transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically. This typically includes the requested URL, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and IP address. This data serves the technical provision, security and stability of the website and is not combined with other sources. Log files are deleted automatically after seven days.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation).

4. Cookies and analytics

This website sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser's local storage and embeds no content from third-party servers — no external fonts, no embedded video, no social media widgets. Your behaviour is not analysed.

No consent under § 25 TTDSG is therefore required, and there is no cookie banner.

5. The SingleDose app

SingleDose processes no personal data on any server. The app contains no networking code and establishes no connection to me or to third parties.

What is stored, and where

Your grinders, coffee beans, saved grind settings and their photos are stored exclusively on your device. There is no user account and no registration.

Bluetooth

The app can connect to an espresso scale to capture yield and brew time automatically. That connection exists solely between your iPhone and the scale. No data is transmitted to me or to third parties. The app is fully usable without a scale.

Camera and photos

Access is optional and used only to attach a picture to a grinder or a bag of coffee. The images do not leave your device.

No tracking

The app contains no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party crash reporting and no third-party SDKs.

Backups

If you use your iPhone's backup, it may include the app's data. That backup is under your control and governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Purchase and download

The app is distributed through the App Store. Which data Apple collects in that process is set out in Apple's privacy policy. I have no influence over it.

Deletion

Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data with it.

6. Contact by email

If you write to me, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to answer it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding), or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a contract. Messages are deleted once they are no longer needed and no statutory retention periods apply.

7. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR), data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) and the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR). Please use the contact details above.

8. Right to lodge a complaint
